Lifestyle changes usually result when something in our life isn’t working. No matter what the reason, making such a change takes effort and commitment. It means abandoning old habits and learning new ways.
When that change involves transitioning from the Standard American Diet to a healthier Whole Food, Plant-Based Diet, it can be even tougher. We are surrounded by unhealthy choices – whether in our own well-stocked pantries and refrigerators (and desk drawers), at nearby fast food restaurants, or blasting out at us from ads on TV, radio, billboards and magazines.
While we may be fully committed and totally on board with embracing a plant-based eating plan, there’s still the learning curve–learning how to shop and how to cook–that requires an investment in time. Fortunately, there are hundreds of cookbooks, websites, and other resources to turn to for help, but one thing I’ve learned over the years is how much easier and faster it is to attend a class or watch a cooking demonstration, especially when you can sample the food. Suddenly you realize it’s not only doable, it’s quick and easy, and oh, so good.
We designed our Whole Food, Plant-Based Lifestyle Made Easy class to help reduce the time spent in the learning curve, so you can get on with your new healthy life. It’s a great way to learn the basics, and get you started and on your way. We’ll show you quick and easy recipes that you can expand on to serve your needs. We’ll show you three quick steps to determine if an item should go in your cart. We’ll introduce you to great products you may not be familiar with, show you how to use them, and where to find them. We’ll even take you grocery shopping.
Making a lifestyle change is never easy in the beginning, but the payoff is so worth sticking with it. We want to help you get over the hurdle of learning the basics, so you can enjoy the fun that lies ahead.
